grief and loss counseling in Flower Mound, Texas

“We bereaved are not alone. We belong to the largest company in all the world – the company of those who have known suffering.”

Helen Keller, We Bereaved

Grief, suffering, or loss will knock us all down at some point. It can feel incredibly challenging, unfair, and terrifying.

I tell my clients there are 3 Rules to Grief:

1: There are no rules. Your grief is your grief.
2: There is no timeline for healing a broken heart.
3: You will never be the person you were before, but you will adapt and adjust.

In life, we don't only grieve the death of our loved ones, we feel deep sorrow over missed opportunities, medical diagnoses, lost connections, broken relationships, missing pets, and life transitions like your kids growing up or getting divorced. Grief is unique to you, your relationships, and your experience.

Most grief is considered normal, and with time and tears, one day you will notice that life keeps going. However, there are times when we need help accepting deep loss. Our suffering keeps us from living. During these moments of profound heartbreak, sorrow, and confusion, I am here to offer you a compassionate and steady hand to hold.

Together, we will honor memories and gently explore emotions. You don't have to navigate this path alone – I am here to listen, validate, and guide you as you experience the waves of grief. We will work towards finding moments of light within the darkness and gradually find a way for healing and hope.

Just as I am here to support those grieving the loss of a loved one or situation, I am equally dedicated to helping those who are facing a tough medical diagnosis or their own mortality. This life change can evoke a wide range of emotions that need telling. Your story matters, and I am here to help you live with compassion, dignity, and respect. Together, we can work on finding peace, creating meaningful connections, and ensuring that this new chapter of your life is filled with as much comfort, hope, and understanding as possible.

Please remember that seeking help during these times is an act of strength, and I am here to support you every step of the way. Contact me today to schedule a session.
